Billie J. (Taffy)'s Story
Life
I made a few mistakes in love and marriage which corrected itself when I married Richard Adams in 1967. We have 3 children, all happily married, which live fairly close to me. I currently have 7 grandchildren. My children are extremely close with their families. We traveled and did a lot of activities together on a daily basis. I retired in 1994 from Cal Trans. I keep busy with the dogs and cat on my little acre. I was widowed in Jan. 2006 and plan on doing some traveling and sight seeing in the near future.
School
I attended a 1 room school in Squaw Valley for the first 2 years. I went from 3rd to 6th grades at Post Elementary, Battle Creek, MI then on to Southeastern Junior High for 7th and most of the 8th. We then moved back to Squ...Expand for more
aw Valley where I graduated from 8th in the 1 room school. 9th grade was at Reedley High in Reedley, CA. We then moved to Fresno where I attended Roosevelt High for 3 years and graduated in 1961.
Workplace
I started out as a car-hop for A&W in MI. Became a grocery clerk for awhile then came back to CA and worked in dry-cleaning establishments. I worked for Peters & Garabian Packing Shed as their bookkeeper until I married Richard Adams. I went to work for Bekins Moving & Storage as a bookkeeper and stayed there until I had my second child. We decided I should stay home with 2 kids and had a 3rd. I went to work in 1979 for Cal Trans as a maintenance worker. I retired in 1994 as a lead-worker on the striping crew. I am now a retired homemaker.
